Friday, May 19th, 2023

In response to “stay-at-home” orders issued by Governor Gavin Newson of California to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus, commonly known as COVID-19. Many employers have been asking, even requiring employees to work from home indefinitely.

For you this may at first seem like a dream at first. And then you realize that your kids (should you have any) are also mandated to stay home from school. That also may seem nice at first but for many, it’s adding to a very hectic home/work life. And then… it gets HOT!

Why Command Comfort is Worth the Wait

Sunday, May 7th, 2023

Being a Heating and Air Conditioning contractor in Orange County, CA is a funny business. Especially a residential HVAC service and installation contractor. Very few people want our services unless it’s hot. The economy can be booming, and it was before COVID-19 like never before, but even then. People only shop for what they want, when they need it. We’re all guilty of it, myself included.

Will A Ceiling Fan Keep Me Cool at Night?

Friday, April 21st, 2023

As air conditioning contractors in Orange County, we are in a market where many homes don’t have air conditioning. Particularly in the beach cities such as Long Beach, Huntington Beach and Newport Beach to name a few. So people in those homes tend to rely on no more than a ceiling fan sometimes to stay cool at night. Will a ceiling fan keep you cool at night vs. air conditioning?

Do I need A/C for my home in Orange County, CA:

Friday, March 10th, 2023

That’s a good question and of course we are inclined to say yes. But let’s think about it for a moment. There are other alternatives to air conditioning if you don’t need it “cold” in your house. Whole house fans work fine for some, especially those near the coast where it most often cools down at night. Using a whole house fan allows you to inexpensively draw in cool air from outdoors through open windows and doors and expels the hot air in your home into your attic. If properly designed, it will help force the hot air out of your attic as well, further reducing the heat load from above. But here’s the catch. They ONLY work well when it’s cooler outside than it is inside. For many that’s not enough, myself included personally. Also keep in mind that here is So Cal, we have fire season and it’s usually worst when it’s hottest out. Having to pull in the outside air through your home when fires are ranging in the distance (hopefully very far from your home) can obviously be displeasing. But, if you think a whole house fan for your Orange County home is sufficient we can help! It’s a nice alternative or an addition to air conditioning.

Flexibility to Fit Your Needs

Friday, February 10th, 2023

Houses are like people.  They come in many styles, shapes, ages, and sizes, and each one is unique.  Yet the traditional ducted HVAC system operates as if the home is a homogenous blob.  Whereas in reality every home is a collection of microclimates and microhabitats.  Ducted HVAC systems attempt to impose a broad inflexible solution for every home, regardless of the home’s individual characteristics or the needs of its occupants.  Such a generic approach inevitably leads to inefficiencies in cost and sub optimum performance, and may even send you searching for ‘air conditioning service near me’ to fix your under-performing unit.
